IL BISONTE SUPPORTS WILDLIFE CONSERVATION SOCIETY’S EFFORTS TO CONSERVE BISON

  4. IL BISONTE SUPPORTS WILDLIFE CONSERVATION…
Consistent with its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, starting this year, Il Bisonte is supporting the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS).

In this way, the historic Florentine brand pays tribute to the peaceful strength and resilient freedom of the brand’s animal symbol, the bison which WCS has had a long history of restoring and protecting in the western United States.

“It gives us great joy to actively support an organization that is helping conserve the bison, which have always been – for me and many others – a symbol of freedom and resilience. WCS has taken important steps to protect this animal which has always inspired us and is an integral part of our concrete, daily commitment to environmental sustainability,” said Luigi Ceccon, CEO of Il Bisonte.

For more than 100 years, WCS has worked to protect the bison, beginning with efforts to repopulate the Great Plains with animals from the Bronx Zoo. In 2016, WCS led a successful campaign to designate the bison the U.S. National Mammal. Today, WCS partners with Indigenous groups to restore the ecological role of bison throughout the American West and Alaska.

John Calvelli, WCS Executive Vice President for Public Affairs said: “We welcome Il Bisonte’s generous support of the Wildlife Conservation Society’s mission to save wildlife and wild places. Saving the bison from extinction is one of the great conservation stories of our time. Our work with Indigenous partners to restore the role of the bison in their ancestral land is key to our mission.”
