  4. IL BISONTE PRESENTS THE SS23…
100% made in Tuscany, Il Bisonte’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection pays homage to the region where the brand was founded in 1970 and where all its artisan workshops are still based today. “The gardens and streets in Florence and its surroundings – explains CEO Luigi Ceccon – are the bridge between our past and our future: their beauty is an inexhaustible source of inspiration, but also a very concrete invitation to interpret our tradition in new, evolving ways.”
Free of fleeting seasonal trends, yet perfectly in tune with the times, the aesthetics of these new products are the result of a responsible design approach that focuses on sustainable raw materials, craftsmanship and a timeless style which means these bags and accessories continue to maintain their allure, even after many years of use.

The Women’s Collection

Four new lines for women are available, each of which is inspired by the exuberant beauty of Florence’s parks and immediate surroundings.

Made of bio-tanned cowhide leather, the bags comprising the Roseto line take their name from the garden of the villa situated on the slopes of Fiesole where Giovanni Michelucci, one of Italy’s greatest twentieth-century architects lived and worked, and echo the garden’s essential lines and clean, harmonious design.

Solaria and Oliveta, on the other hand, owe their name to two magnificent parks in Sesto Fiorentino, full of centuries-old trees. The Solaria shoulder bags – molded on beech wood frames – and tote are unique in their refined details, like the large closure and two-tone ribbon on the flap, or the herringbone motif in the two-tone raffia versions. Essential and practical, the Oliveta shoulder bags – in classic or metallic cowhide which come in the camera bag or disco bag styles – add a touch of style to everyday life.

The Bellariva line which owes its name to the oasis of greenery winding along the Arno river, includes shoulder and crossbody bags in vintage cowhide, molded on beech wood frames, with a brass closure embellished by hand woven braided leather.

The new collection also includes new versions of the Robur cotton canvas tote and  Tondina crossbody and shoulder bags, which are made of bio-tanned cowhide leather and exude casual yet sophisticated elegance.

The colors featured in the Spring / Summer 2023 collection are also inspired by nature and botany: vibrant hues of Wisteria, Mimosa and Cherry and warm, intense tones of Arabica and Rust.

The Men’s Collection

The design of our men’s bags in the SS23 collection is a refined elaboration of the aesthetic that has always been Il Bisonte’s hallmark. A result of consciously combining elegance with practicality, the collection includes three new lines: Bardi featuring its functional, lightweight and roomy shoulder bags, tote, pouches and travel bags in nylon; Belfiore, which includes two messengers and a travel bag featuring geometric cuts and ponticello closures; and Oriuolo, in vintage cowhide leather with nylon shoulder strap and multiple pockets to help keep everything at your fingertips.

Like the Women’s Collection, the names of the lines in the Men’s SS23 collection also tie in to Florence and its city streets.

Sustainable by tradition

Ever faithful to its founding values of environmental, social and commercial sustainability and its authentic, alternative project for a circular economy, for its Spring / Summer 2023 Collection Il Bisonte chooses the extraordinary quality of cowhide leather as its raw material, either vegetable-tanned or bio-tanned; the latter is both recyclable and compostable.

The brand’s continuing commitment to benefiting people and the environment is also evidenced by its repeated investment in the skill of the artisans who work in Il Bisonte’s  short supply chain, and whose job it is not only to produce the bags and accessories, but also to restore them and provide remise en forme services.
