The Il Bisonte Contemporary SS22 collection celebrates the values of environmental, commercial, and social sustainability which have always been part of the company’s DNA.The neo-minimalist design of the new bags and small leather accessories reinterprets the unmistakable style and production techniques of historic designs preserved in the brand’s archive, presenting them in new materials and unexpected new colors.
Responsibly chosen raw materials
The result of a tangible, authentic, and alternative example of the circular economy concept, the products featured in the SS22 collection favor the use of responsibly chosen raw materials. Besides the iconic vegetable-tanned cowhide leather (which has always been the brand’s preferred material of choice), new materials of the highest quality are used that perfectly combine tradition and the brand’s desire for innovation, such as recyclable and compostable bio-tanned cowhide leather processed to give the products a smooth, semi-opaque texture that highlights their naturalness; chrome free/metal free natural grain calfskin, which is extraordinarily soft and silky to the touch; and resistant and waterproof linen and cotton fabrics. Following tradition, the leathers used by Il Bisonte exclusively come from animals reared for food which — if not used — would create serious disposal problems.
The new face of a unique style
Faithful to a very precise idea of sustainable consumption, the SS22 collection is also free from the strict rules of seasonal trends: bags and accessories are designed and produced to last a lifetime while maintaining their beauty and uniqueness.
The Fifty On line updates the aesthetics of the brand’s iconic styles by adding a sense of lightness: the Sole handbag (in vegetable tanned cowhide or bio-tanned cowhide) borrows the characteristic diagonal motif from prototypes of the seventies and comes in a new medium version available in a surprising color palette that includes dusty blue, pale pink, light olive green, and pink chestnut. The same inspiration has led to the creation of the Belle Donne shoulder bags (in cowhide or chrome-free calfskin), a small masterpiece of craftsmanship characterized by an oblique front band that is now available in large, medium, and mini versions, and the Stufa shoulder bag (in vegetable tanned cowhide or bio-tanned cowhide).
Timeless beauty, simplicity, and sustainability are also found in the Piccarda bags, which come in two sizes and are worn slung over the shoulder or as a cross-body, and the Bardini handbag or shoulder bag (small or medium), with its distinctive oval base, detachable woven tape shoulder strap, and four slightly rounded external pockets.
100% made in Tuscany
Il Bisonte bags and accessories are made exclusively in the province of Florence by the master craftsmen of its supply chain all within a range of 30 km from the company. The names of the products pay tribute to the city where the company was born and around which it has built a manufacturing district that is unique in the world. Piccarda is a tribute to the women who wrote the history of Florence (Piccarda de’ Medici); Bardini celebrates its magnificent monumental gardens (Giardino Bardini); and Sole, Belle Donne, and Stufa pay homage to the unmistakable irregular maze-like layout of its streets.
The sporty, urban bags of the New Nomad line, on the other hand, look to the rest of the world and feature the Gabang shoulder bag (now available in bright seaweed green, cork beige, and dazzling white, besides its traditional black) and the Baggu shoulder bag, both made of fine metal-free calfskin, and the Rossa mini bowling and small bowling bags and backpack that come in pale pink, dusty blue, pink chestnut, and grass green with contrasting black or white trim.
