Il Bisonte presents the Contemporary FW21 collection: care and dedication to the essence of style
“An aesthetic commitment in the name of understatement and a conscious use of materials have always been our hallmark. We tan leather with low-impact vegetable tanning processes that have been used for centuries in Tuscany and we continuously invest in a short supply chain located within 30 km from Florence, supporting artisans who have transmitted their know-how through generations. These are our values which are still present today. We are proud of them and want to promote them around the globe.”
Luigi Ceccon, CEO, Il Bisonte
After the celebration of its fiftieth anniversary, always maintaining a vibrant dialog with the archive but with an eye on the present and an ability to interpret change, Il Bisonte continues its journey in updating and harmoniously redefining the stylistic codes and values that distinguish it.
This includes the sleek, graceful aesthetic of its products designed to last and create an emotional relationship with the buyer; the highly evolved workmanship and the strong bond with Florence and Tuscany, the heartland where all production phases take place within a 30 km range and where centuries-old techniques are preserved and enhanced; and environmental and social responsibility, the core of the brand and a commitment in progress that this season also passes through the use of new regenerated materials (which can be regenerated themselves through recycling).
The Contemporary F/W2021 collection is the synthesis of the past, but in an even more consistent and significant way, present and future. New styles, materials and production techniques make their debut, and the color palette is extremely refined. From geometrical prints to velvety surfaces, the desire for freedom and lightness are expressed through delicate new small shapes.
The story continues
The Mediterranean line, inspired by Tuscany and its islands, returns. Very recognizable, with the iconic wavy motif on the top designed by founder Wanny di Filippo, are the Giglio shoulder bag, decorated with slender gold-tone chain handles, and the Elba tote bag, both available in smooth leather and regenerated suede. Also back is Symmetria, the line that plays with contrasting trim and geometric brass clasps. Already favorites with the public, the Caterina and Luisa clutches with shoulder straps now come in deep saturated shades and in an elegant velvet version.
Born as a link between past and present and tied to the summer collection celebrating the anniversary, Fifty On is a tribute that continues through new versions with the iconic diagonal cut inspired by the famous streets of Florence. With its complex structure, Belle Donne, a best seller of summer, embodies the finest skills of master artisans working in the Il Bisonte supply chain in Tuscany. Sole — the bag that more than any other represents the two souls of Il Bisonte — also returns with smaller proportions and in two-tone and two-material versions. Among the typical production processes of Florentine tradition, there is also the origami-inspired seamless design of Titania, the envelop clutch with extractable shoulder strap.
There are always the versatile, combinable small leather accessories that are favorites on the Asian market due to their versatility.
Sophisticated debut
Sharing refined lines and a luxurious attitude are the new bags inspired by the elegant women in the Medici family like the versatile Contessina crocodile or velvet mini-bag with slender gold-tone chain, the Lucrezia soft suede crossbody bag, or the rounded Piccarda shoulder bag in the classic natural cowhide version or decorated with the new locally-made embroidered trim. Maximum functionality and a roomy design define the new Gorgona tote bag made of suede or cuoietto leather and the Rossa bowling bag with a vintage vibe, available in three different sizes.
Also making their debut are the genderless Business briefcase and Tote document case in leather and suede and the Jimubaggu, the first Il Bisonte weekend bag (in canvas and cowhide).
Colors that make a subtle statement
The seasonal color palette presents sophisticated hues inspired by nature like olive green, sky blue, burnt Sienna, and pink chestnut that alternate with classic shades such as cigar brown, ocher and tan. Unexpected luminous pastel nuances like mint green and pink stand out.
The materials: attractive to the eye and touch
The great classics of the brand like vegetable tanned cowhide, smooth and embossed leather and suede (that always come from the food chain supply), canvas and velvet are joined this season by Re-Suede, a type of high-quality suede with a reduced environmental impact produced from recycled and regenerated suede leather scraps deriving from the production process. The debut of this material is proof of the brand’s desire to embrace recycling and to gradually reduce, wherever possible, the impact of processes involving raw materials.
