The new FW 2020/21 collection presented in Palazzo Corsini, Il Bisonte’s historic headquarters in Florence, is a tribute to the first fifty years of the brand’s history, its inexhaustible creativity and the excellence of its production district located just 30Km away.

Each of the new bags and new small leather accessories is a surprising tribute to the traditional unconventionality that makes Il Bisonte’s creations unique and unmistakable. In this collection vegetable tanned cowhide, the brand’s material of choice, is given ample space as usual, coming in an unexpectedly lightweight and soft as nappa style as well as a warm, aged, lived-in version. Striped fabrics—another brand icon from the Seventies—are back, and it’s a mixed linen cotton from the archives that dictates the color palette for the women’s collection next season, taking its cue from the spicy nuances of cumin, curry, sumac and pink pepper.

The collection, available internationally starting next autumn, is also a journey into the extraordinary wealth of knowledge which makes up the foundation of excellence and quality for all Il Bisonte products. These are made by expert craftsmen in a single production district concentrated in a 30-Km area around the Pontassieve headquarters in the province of Florence, and it is to their irreplaceable mastery that we owe the Ciprea collection’s recent success. A true masterpiece of the cuoietto – forgotten elsewhere – comes out next season in two unexpected metallic versions.

Minimal design, functionality and urban spirit characterize the men’s FW 2020/21 collection which will include briefcases and backpacks in cowhide leather with textured print as well as shopping bags that can be either worn on the shoulder or carried by hand, perfect companions for the whole day. In the men’s line, the iconic ponticello closure also makes a comeback, revived from prototypes preserved in Pontassieve’s historical archives: a demonstration of the absolute relevance and inexhaustible vitality of Wanny Di Filippo’s intuitions which have continued to mature since the Seventies. Wanny Di Filippo is founder and ambassador of a brand known across the globe as an emblem of accessible luxury, casual-chic style and timeless beauty.
