  3. LEATHER AND LEAF LANTERNS –…
In this issue of the Journal, we reflect on the brand’s first gift to Orti Dipinti. With less than 300 W, Il Bisonte lit up the entire community garden. Some lights are especially symbolic of this refined symbiosis: between beauty and sustainability.

Il Bisonte’s active support for Orti Dipinti has begun. Indeed, it’s now well under way. – Yes, but when did it start? And how? It didn’t consist of simply pushing a button. – Yes, in fact, it did.
«Go on, try it» could be heard in the Gardens last June 15, towards evening, when the garden party guests had yet to arrive. That Pitti Uomo 102 event would be a success. Thanks to many. Not least of all the lights.

BETWEEN BEAUTY AND SUSTAINABILITY

Hidden in plain sight were three new sets of lights. Under the long pergola in the center of the track, various sizes and shapes of light bulbs (globes and tear drops) were suspended above the tables at different heights.
The music instead emanated from luminous catenaries. Above the stage, attached to the bamboo structures and stretched into filaments, as designed by the project’s co-author, Jan Bigazzi.

THE SOFTNESS OF LIGHT, EARTH AND LEATHER

It was on the east side of Orti Dipinti, though, that special lights were lined up. Inside displays which looked a bit like World Cup benches, ten light bulbs were screened at the back with pale fabric.
It gave the effect of a Chinese lantern. – Those that take flight! – No, the ones that are firmly anchored to the ground. To illuminate the surroundings, they take advantage of the natural reverberations radiating from the green plants in Orti Dipinti and the natural leather of the displayed Il Bisonte bags, in symbiosis.
