On the occasion of Pitti 107, Il Bisonte kicks off celebrations for its 55th anniversary by presenting a new collection that honors the brand’s timeless attitude, along with the release of a new issue of its magazine, entirely dedicated to its founder Wanny Di Filippo.
The FW25 Collection
The FW25 collection revisits Il Bisonte’s stylistic and manufacturing traditions while interpreting them with a forward-looking vision. The names chosen for the lines—Archivio, Atelier, Accademia, Archetipo, and Musa—celebrate the timeless savoir-faire of Il Bisonte’s artisans and the remarkable relevance of the creative experiments preserved in its extraordinary historical archive, which holds 3,000 prototypes and iconic models created since the early 1970s.
Characterized by responsible design and free from seasonal constraints, the new lines for women—Archivio, Atelier, Accademia, and Musa—along with the men’s lines—Archetipo and Medici—share a timeless aesthetic. Their shapes are molded around the unmistakable texture of the iconic vegetable-tanned leather, and now come in new colors: Midnight Blue, Dewy Green, and Midday Yellow, symbolizing the passage of time which makes Il Bisonte bags and accessories even more unique and beautiful.
The new lines for women
The Archivio line includes a saddle bag, a shoulder bag, and a wallet in vegetable-tanned leather, all characterized by the iconic “baccellino” loop which is inspired by archival models.
The wide pleats that call to mind sculptural draping are what make the Accademia crossbody and hobo bags unique. Their design highlights the natural softness of the vegetable-tanned leather, hand-stitched in place.
The Atelier crossbody and shoulder bags stand out for their thick, smooth, elegant leather and distinctive brass closure, made particularly easy to use by its slight curvature.
Finally, the Musa line, dedicated to travelers who always bring a touch of authentic elegance wherever they go, features vegetable-tanned leather pieces, including two structured beauty cases lined with waterproof fabric, a pouch, a lipstick case with mirror, a rigid bracelet, and a keychain with leather initial and strap that can be attached to other bags and accessories from the collection.
The new lines for men
Elegant, comfortable, and versatile, the Archetipo travel duffel bag in vintage vegetable-tanned leather features an iconic rounded silhouette, inspired both by prototypes preserved in the historical archive and the Ponte Vecchio’s distinctive architecture.
The Medici briefcase in vintage vegetable-tanned leather pays tribute to the great Florentine banking family that led the city of Florence during the Renaissance. It can be carried by hand, or worn crossbody or over the shoulder.
The new classics
On the occasion of Pitti 107, Il Bisonte also presents new classics that complement the brand’s most beloved collections from past seasons. New models in luxurious suede with vegetable-tanned leather details enrich the best-selling lines for women: Nina (tote bag and crossbody) and Le Laudi (shoulder bag and bucket bag). The men’s lines are also updated with casual elegance: Galileo (duffle bag) and Duccio (belt bag).
Responsible by tradition
Like Il Bisonte’s first creations, which were born in the historic center of Florence 55 years ago, all the bags and small leather goods in the FW25 Collection are produced exclusively in the artisan workshops making up the brand’s supply chain, all located within a 30-km radius of the Pontassieve headquarters. For this reason, the photos for the FW25 collection launch campaign were taken in Florence, in locations that best showcase the art and craftsmanship that illustrate the unique connection between the beauty of the products and the beauty of the city where Il Bisonte was born.
